Stop and Pray encourages all persons to stop and pray regularly throughout the day. Commissioned by the Stevenson School for Ministry, Harrisburg, PA, the app permits the user to select a time for prayer in the morning, noontime, early evening, and at the close of day, following the "Daily Devotions for Individuals and Families" in the Book of Common Prayer. The user can read any of these four offices and move between them.
The app requires iOS 8, and is optimized for the iPhone 6, but runs on the 5s, 4s and 6 plus as well, and also on iPads. The app issues notifications at times to "stop and pray."
The user is asked to permit notifications; receiving notifications requires that the app run in the background, and this can reduce battery life. Notifications can be accepted or declined when the app is launched, and also by using Settings > Notifications.
Requires iOS 9.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
